All I have to say is that probably half of those were bought as a joke for someone. The other half, well, I just don't have words for them. CNN has a video about it that I can't seem to embed, view it here.

People often see me as "the tech guy." Thing is, I don't even really like computers innately. It is just that sometimes they allow for some pretty cool stuff to happen. Things like instant communication between people continents apart or creative applications like photo editings and video creation.

So I came to DC a little over a week ago, and I'm happy to announce that today I accepted a job at NGP Software. The major product of NGP is software that tracks political donations and then helps the campaign or party client submit their compliance reports to the FEC and the respective state ethics boards. So there is a lot to be learned, but I am quite excited about it. I'll be starting after the inauguration and it turns out I work in an area with a lot of other friends from s

I say this because he just came to visit all the staff and volunteers at the Presidential Inaugural Committee to shake their hands and say thank you. Totally unnecessary for him to do, but he did it anyhow. As I look back on it, it has been 11 months since I met him last, on Super Tuesday (February 5th), a picture which you can see as my Facebook profile picture.

Welcome, 2009. I have but one resolution for this year, same one as last year: find myself a good job. I was under a lot of pressure at this time last year, three of my roommates had jobs as of September, the other was accepted to Teach for America sometime in the fall, and I still had no clue how I would end up doing something that I cared about after graduation. I certainly am glad that I waited though, and it was only about two or three weeks after graduation that I started with the Obama campaign, which I imagine will be a part of my life that I am proud of for years to come.

I just read a post by a rockstar volunteer for the Oregon Bus Project about how he was in a bike accident. Most of us have heard a story like this at some point, including myself, yet occasionally I would ride my bike on campus without a helmet. No more. If any of you ever see me riding without, smack me. To T.A., the author of the post, get better. To Garrett, start wearing your helmet when you bike.

So I have not really been updating this blog. I appreciate that people do read it, and I want to wish everyone out there a Happy Thanksgiving. The following are just a few of the things I am thankful for:

So I am a big fan of http://pandora.com which takes a song or artist that you like and plays music that sounds like it. That is why today, when Apple introduced a whole new set of iPods and such, I was most intrigued by their new Genius feature of iTunes 8. This genius feature allows you to take an artist or song from your library, hit the genius button, and have iTunes create a playlist of other music that sounds like it, except that it is all music that you own!

Woah, we're halfway there!
Yes, folks, today is my halfway point from when I arrived in Alaska till election day. Crazy to think that I have been here longer now than it is till the most important day in the next 4 years. Crazy to think that of the relatively few hours I have slept in my first half here, there will be even fewer going forward, thanks to ever expanding work hours.
